Project Launch: 12-14-17
Youth-Led Garden Girls will allow 12 young girls from 10 to 19 years old to participate to an environmental project to learn and cherish the value of maintaining a community garden and working cooperatively, bolstering understanding of civic responsibility, environmental protection, recycling and composting. Girls will be trained intensively in the program curriculum with a focus on maintaining an organic and sustainable micro-garden using recycled materials in their communities such as tires and water bottles. Training will later be replicated with participants' parents to promote gardening practice and environmental principles at home.
