Sustainable Reforestation on Indigenous Family Farms
Project Launch:Project Launch: 2/4/16 The Bribri indigenous group lives on a remote reservation in Coroma, which is only accessible by river. With increased development and globalization, the traditional Bribri practices and culture are in danger of being lost. This project will reforest five women-owned small farms so that they can practice traditional Bribri agriculture. The trees will provide shade cover on their farms, improving soil health and crop production, and contributing to the reforestation of a once dense rainforest that was decimated by international banana production.
